Curriculum

Eight weeks, three blocks

The Starter plan follows phases 1 and 2 of the 24-week roadmap, plus Git, GitHub and basic database concepts.

WK 1–3

Phase 1 · Programming fundamentals

Introduction — what is software development, the Software Development Life Cycle, types of applications (web, desktop, SaaS), programming concepts, software architecture basics

Programming basics — variables and data types, operators, conditional statements, loops, functions, arrays, objects, error handling, object-oriented programming

Assignments — build a calculator • build a number-guessing game

WK 4–7

Phase 2 · Frontend development

HTML and CSS — tags, forms, tables, semantic HTML, selectors, Flexbox, Grid, responsive design, animations

JavaScript — variables and functions, DOM manipulation, events, APIs, ES6 concepts

React.js (basics) — components, props and state, routing, hooks

Projects — portfolio website • landing page • to-do application

WK 8

Git, GitHub and database basics

Repositories, commits, branches, pull requests and merge conflicts, plus database concepts, tables and relationships. Backend development, REST APIs, advanced SQL, testing and deployment are covered in the Professional and Career Pro plans.

Hosting — shared hosting, VPS, an introduction to Docker and CI/CD

Platforms — AWS basics, DigitalOcean, Hostinger, Vercel, Netlify

Linux — terminal commands, file permissions, Nginx and Apache

Phase 9 · Testing and security

Testing — unit testing, integration testing, debugging

Security — SQL injection prevention, XSS and CSRF protection, authentication security
