The Curriculum

Eight weeks, three blocks

The Starter plan follows phases 1 and 2 of the 24-week roadmap, plus basic wireframing, prototyping and portfolio work.

WK 1–2

Phase 1 · Introduction to UI/UX design

UI vs UX fundamentals — what UI design is, what UX design is, the difference between them, the design thinking process, user-centered design, principles of good design, design terminology

Design basics — colour theory, typography, layout principles, white space, visual hierarchy, grids and alignment, contrast and consistency

Assignment — analyze the UI/UX of five popular websites and apps
WK 3–4

Phase 2 · Design tools and fundamentals

Figma basics — the interface, frames and components, Auto Layout, styles and assets, plugins, team collaboration

Graphic design basics — icons and illustrations, image editing, design assets, export settings

Assignment — design a landing page in Figma
WK 5–8

Wireframing, prototyping and portfolio (basics)

Low- and mid-fidelity wireframes, layout planning, clickable prototypes, and a first portfolio built around your own work. User research, design systems, responsive design, UX testing and developer handoff are covered in the Professional and Career Pro plans.
